The Disadvantages of Zirconium Crowns
Most of the disadvantages experienced in the first period of zirconium crown have been eliminated with the advancement of technology. Today, the disadvantage or damage of zirconium crown is negligible. Zirconium crowns have two disadvantages. These;
- Zirconium crowns have a more fragile structure because they are resistant to breakage but not flexible. For this reason, it is not possible to use very long zirconia crown bridges to be made to remove long tooth gaps consisting of 4-5 adjacent teeth due to the possibility of breakage.
- Compared to porcelain crowns, high zirconium crown prices are also a significant disadvantage.
